Al-Barakah Charity Trust

Al Barakah Charity Trust is the main donor of Asalaam Complex at Chiwaula Village in Mangochi. The Complex consists of a Primary School, a Secondary School, a Mualim Training College, a clinic, and a computer section. ACT pays the budget of running the complex that has 150 employees.

Assalam Complex is a project and initiative of Munazzamat Dawat Islamia (MDI). However, over 80% of the buildings and other facilities at Assalam Complex have been constructed by Al-Barakah Charity Trust. The buildings and facilities of Assalam Complex include 65 staff houses, hostels that can accommodate 320 students, classrooms, administration block/offices, and science & computer laboratories.

Assalam Mualim Training Institute

Assalam Mualim Training Institute is based in Mangochi. It is a unique institution that is dedicated to the training of Mualims. Enrollment is open to young Muslim men who are holders of MSCE certificate. They undergo a two year long programme that is preceded with a one year preparatory programme after which they qualify with a diploma awarded by the Islamic African University in Khartoum, Sudan. Graduates from the institute can become Imams or teachers who may also serve the communities in different ways. These diploma holders may also advance their studies at other institutions of higher learning.

A similar institution for ladies shall be constructed in the near future, inshaAllah.
